10 Lobsters in the “Bean”.

Around New Years, my girlfriend came to the city to get her NYC eating on. We went to two of her now fave restaurants. First we waited over an hour to have breakfast at Clinton street baking company. We had their sugar cured bacon and a waffle special topped with pears and cinnamon sour cream (yum!). And before she went home, we hit Grimaldi’s, Manhattan for pizza which was a great aid to curing a hangover (don’t ask.). And we had some home cooking in the midst of it all.  All in all we had a good time just being greedy that weekend.

Then, it was my turn! I headed to Bean-town the following weekend. (Boston for those of you who don’t know). All for some Ginger Scallion Lobster. You see in New England the lobster is waaaay cheaper than in NYC.  I was ready to go. However, there was a glitch in the plan for the trip. I was a little sick earlier that week I took all kind of cold remedies and I woke up feeling about 80%  that Saturday morning! So I booked a flight instead of driving up. I had too! This Lobster was on my mind for that entire week leading up to my trip. And I wouldn’t get back to Boston, God’s will, until late spring with my busy schedule. I even ate lean cuisines for lunch ALL week to make sure I had room for the food and to offset the potential weight gain that would’ve potentially ensued had I not taken that precaution.

I was ready! I couldn’t wait for the eating to begin!

And “Begin”, we did.  From I touched down my girlfriend and I hit the ground running! And by the time we stopped we had 10 lobsters between the two of us!

This was the first of two meal we had within a 24 hour period from this same place.

How awesome was that?

I would go back to New Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant (66 Beach street Boston, MA) again and again!

It was bittersweet that it had to end. I so wish I knew how to make their Ginger Scallion Lobster, at least. These chefs make it seem so effortless. Dammit!

Anybody know a good ginger scallion recipe?  Please share and I will test it out and post.
